"Why can't we learn from all we've been through | After two thousand years?" - Billy Joel - Two Thousand Years
When I was reading chapter 5, I was thinking about what I would have lived through had I been born in 1081 AD instead of 1981, and I just happen to be 928 years old. Seriously, can you imagine? My life would have include memories of:
- The first lightbulb
- The discovery of the "new world"
- Martin Luther
- The first vaccine
- Gravity
- Kublai Khan
- The great artists of the Renaissance
Need I go on? With 1000 years of perspective, wouldn't I have learned something? Would there still be wars and would there still be starving children? Oddly enough, the children of those old guys and gals in chapter 5 were the ones who got so crazy that God wiped them out.
Are you only 28?!? Wow. Wise beyond your years. You keep the rest of us young.
