Our God is a wonderful God who loves us no matter what we do. Yes he can become angry and we may feel this anger at times. But there is always forgiveness. Holy week is always the time that I really reflect on God's gift to us in the form of Jesus. Amid the busyiness of preparing for Easter it is important for us to reflect on the pain and suffering Jesus went through for us. Are we worthy of this gift? All we can do is keep trying to be.

I read your post first and wanted to say.."But Wait! It's still Lent! We can't skip Holy Week and jump to Easter"
ReplyDeleteBut then I read the chapter, and you're absolutely right. There is absolutely no way to read Isaiah 12 without thinking of Easter.
I'll shout it from the Mountaintops, I want my world to know. (My childhood youth group always sang this at the Sonrise service, and it was all the more powerful because the service was on top of a hill at the base of the Rocky Mtns. - overlooking the suburbs of Denver....we actually shouted from the moutnaintop)
Creating sacred space, Connecting to God, Responding to what God is doing. This is Sanctuary's purpose statement.
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 11 tells the story of what God is doing and Isaiah 12 is our response to it.
I read this in my journal from Apr 19th last year, "God, we're looking for your blessing, expectant for what you'll do with us now and in the future. Help us to get out of our comfort zones, so that we can reach the world with your love."
The end of this chapter says it all, "Sing praise-songs to God. He's done it all! Let the whole earth know what he's done! Raise the roof! Sing your hearts out, O Zion! The Greatest lives among you: The Holy of Israel."
Love your post Kelly! It is joyous to reflect on
ReplyDeletewhat God has given us through His son Jesus. Also the responsibility is ours to use our energies to live as Christ lived.
