What I love about this blog is that I turn on the crock pot for myself every morning by reading Scripture, then Kelly tosses in something, then Jordan, then someone else, and by the time I get to posting, it's this flavorful creation for me to partake of. With the 5th Welcome Coffee in the bag, I'm excited for the remaining three (they just haven't been scheduled yet). I've seen people's faith start to come alive in these small group gatherings. I'm charged up for Calumet this weekend. I just hope they have an internet connection this time, so I can share our experience with you. If you are available tomorrow night, please come to Soup, Song, Story, and Sacrament (6:30-8 pm) and/or join the group at the Carlson's on Saturday night (again from 6:30-8 pm).
A mere two weeks after this weekend's youth gathering, we have the 30 Hour Famine. Please pray about making a donation (payable to Faith, checks to Barbara, FCI in the memo). I'd love to start packaging meals during the weekend of the 19th-20th. As you can tell, we talked about passing on faith, outreach, and spiritual giftedness tonight. More and more people are reading the Bible daily for the first time in a long time. A bunch of them are reading this blog too for their daily devotions.
My sense is that Paul's top three gifts were discernment, faith, and leadership. They seem to come so naturally to him. That's the way it is with giftedness. When we are aware of ours, we can live out of them. That why they call it natural church development. An organism natural grows in the right environment. I can't wait to see what God's going to do with Faith!
Remember, Thursday morning we're starting with Proverbs.
